Bertie County Public Schools will hold the annual Federal Programs Public Meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2012. The meeting will be held in the county boardroom at Central Office, 222 County Farm Road in Windsor, NC 27983.
The meeting is open to parents, teachers, principals and all other interested parties. Items to be discussed are Federal Programs, allocations, school plans and budget.
The Bertie County Board of Education unanimously voted to form an ad hoccommittee charged with engaging in an in-depth review of architectural re-design proposals for a new Bertie High School.The committee will share details of their review with the full board of education and make a recommendation for the board’s consideration and possible action.This seven member committee will meet on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in the Bertie County Schools Central Services Annex, 117 County Farm Road, Windsor, NC27983.

Brittany Ledford, a sophomore at Bertie STEM High School, will have a new school address next year as she becomes a member of the Class of 2014 at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics in Durham. The prestigious school seeks students like Brittany who are high academic achievers and are eager to accept new challenges. The school places a great emphasis on students who encompass a broad spectrum of experience, backgrounds and culture. Brittany is the daughter of William and Toni Ledford of Windsor. She has already traveled to the "Bull City" where she made sure she will continue with one of her favorite STEM High School experiences by joining the School of Science and Mathematics Robotics Team.
